Our user friendly whole house
digital metered Iron Eater iron removal softeners are used to
filter iron (red/brown stains), manganese (grey/black stains),
and water hardness ( white chalky build-up - calcium and magnesium).
What is well water iron:The presence
of Iron is a very common water quality problem, particularly
in water from deep wells. Water containing even a significant
quantity of iron may appear clear when drawn, but will rapidly
turn red upon exposure to air. This process is called oxidation,
and involves the conversion of ferrous (dissolved) iron, which
is highly soluble, to ferric (precipitated) iron, which is largely
insoluble. The ferric iron then causes red/brown staining on
clothes, fixtures, etc.Iron concentration is measured in ppm
or mg/l (milligrams per liter, where 1 ppm = 1 mg/l). Staining
usually becomes a problem at concentrations greater than 0.3
ppm.
What is hard water: The term hardness refers
to the quantity of dissolved calcium and magnesium in water.
These minerals, which come primarily from limestone type rock
formations, are found to some degree in almost all natural waters.
Calcium and magnesium cause problems for two principal reasons:
When the water is warmed, they precipitate out of solution and
form a hard, rock-like scale. This scale accelerates corrosion,
restricts flow, and reduces heat transfer in water heaters and
boilers. When they combine with soap, they react to form a curd,
which interferes with cleaning, dries out skin, and leaves deposits
on plumbing and clothes (bathtub ring; ring around the collar).
The Iron Eater
is a self-backwashing system that automatically removes the trapped
elements within the filter bed and washes them down the drain.
This is accomplished with the electronic control valve that is
mounted on top of the Iron Eater.This valve is controlled by
a meter, that calculates the amount of water being used.Once
the meter reaches x amount of gallons, It then initiates the
backwash cycle that cleans the bed of filtration media and resets
it for the next period of filtration.
The Iron Eater
is fully delivered with filtration media already in the tank.
WE DO NOT deliver filtration media separately for our
customers to pour in. We deliver complete and ready to plumb.

The system connects
to the main line of your home and filters all the incoming water
to it. It requires a nearby power outlet for the control valve.
Low maintenance. Just add
sodium or potassium pellets to brine tank.
- Customer Assurance:
While many companies may
claim contaminant filtration with their systems, our water softener packages
will and do comply with the California Department of Health Services
Drinking Water Program.California has one of the strictest residential
water treatment policies. When a California company claims that
a residential home water filter will reduce contaminants [such
as lead, Cryptosporidium (protozoan cysts), pesticides, herbicides,
solvents, heavy metals, bacteria and viruses] or makes other
health related performance claims, the device must be certified
by the DHS, pursuant to Health & Safety Code Section 116830.

treatment - To comply with California's Department of Health
Services Drinking Water Program we have included the CA. Certified
# 99-1396 tgi5-25 under the counter reverse osmosis
system. This system has also
been tested and certified by NSF International against ANSI/NSF
Standard 58 for the reduction of Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper,
Cyst, Hexavalent Chromium, Lead, Radium 226/228, Selenium, TDS,
and Trivalent Chromium.
For customers concerned with bacteria and water borne viruses
we offer the CA. Certified # 02-1516 Trojan UV Max Pro 7 whole
house ultraviolet disinfection system.Trojan UV Max Pro 7 has
also been certified NSF 55. These systems undergo exhaustive
testing and evaluation to ensure they destroy 99.99 percent of
harmful microorganisms, including E. coli. They are environmentally-friendly,
chemical-free and is a safe, natural process that adds no chemicals
and does not affect the taste or odor of your water.

The Iron Eater is fully delivered
with the Fleck ProFloSE digital control valve and filtration
media already in the tank. We do not ship filtration media separately
for our customers to pour in and assemble. We ship complete and
ready to plumb!
